Skyblast at PNC Park

Last night, I convinced Jared that we HAD to go downtown to Point Park to watch the last night of SKYBLAST! (to be said in large echoing announcers voice). He rolled his eyes, but of course, he went willingly because he knew I wanted to go so bad. We took the bus downtown just after 9pm and walked through the park - which wasn't very well lit. Jared reminding me the entire time, that if we get mugged it's my fault for wanting to go to SKYBLAST!. But it's Pittsburgh - we later found out the city moved the hobos for the All-Star game. I wonder where they all are now?

Anyhoo... we wandered along the river, the Allegheny to be precise and found a comfy spot between 2 moored boats. We were only sitting for 10min before the couple from one of the boats asked if we'd like to join them. Have I mentioned how friendly Pittburghers are?! So we sat with them and learned the scoop about SKYBLAST!. Seems that the BEST firework people (Zambelli) actually are from PA and they use almost every occasion in Pittsburgh to test out their latest and greatest.

They shot fireworks from the bridge, the water, PNC park and the off the tops of some of the downtown buildings - was quite spectacular. Check out these other great photos.
