As many of you know, the great Isaac Hayes has done moved on. Sadly, our younger readers tend to think of South Park when they think of Mr. Hayes. I suppose we can't blame them, especially when his best work came in the late 60s and early 70s. Most often recognized for his blaxploitation soundtracks, the most famous being Shaft (he scored an Oscar for that one), Mr. Hayes had soul. Those tuned into modern music, will recognize a number of Hayes' hooks being used as samples (for instance Walk on By gets licked by Portishead).
We here at earWorms (read: me), would like to dedicate this week's selection to Isaac Hayes, a master of funk, soul and the mighty groove.
